The story of a young man growing up in Great Depression era Chicago.  Despite the hard times of his youth, Adrian arrives in his twenties still optimistic about his future.  All of that comes crashing down one fateful night in the slums of the city in mid winter 1950; the night he is forever changed into a vampire.  He will spend the next half century struggling to accept who he is all the while trying to keep his family safe.  However, when his younger sister is found dead by unnatural causes, he flees to New York out of anger and hatred of those who took his sister from him.  His new life in New York will bring him face-to-face with many of the nation’s most influential events and tragedies in recent history.
